XXLpix introduces SAP

Berlin, January 28, 2007 - XXLpix, one of the fastest growing service providers in the European photographic trade uses SAP software to control the supply chain. With the implementation of SAP-supported processes it was possible to halve production time by workflow-optimised job processing. The complete order processing is accelerated by the simultaneous connection of partners through web interfaces, so that over 90% of individual products can be delivered within 24 hours of the order.
With the introduction of SAP software the Berlin company XXLpix is reacting to its rapid growth and the associated increasing complexity of business models. "Through the seamless integration of the new ERP system with our online platforms our business processes are mapped in real time, recorded in accounts and settled," explains Markus Haaga IT manager of the young service company. The challenge consisted of synchronising job operations of decentrally organised servers globally without a time delay and of further increasing the compatibility with external systems. Wide-ranging transparency of information and process automation with regard to all parties involved in processing play a paramount role and are now achieved consistently through the new tandem solution.

With the new system XXLpix has closed the information chain of the complete customer process. Partner companies, customers and suppliers are now integrated in the ERP system via the Internet. From the order through the production job to delivery, all processes are controlled centrally and transferred to the connected systems of partner companies. Daniel Cäsar, the Managing Director of XXLpix, is extremely satisfied: "Through the use of SAP software we have optimised our operative business so that we are now able to use the resources that were released to develop our range of services. This is the precondition for us to be able to continue to grow above the branch average."

The manufacturer of Canvas Photos intends to continue to optimise processes in future as well. "As the complexity of business models continues to increase, there is no way around an efficient ERP system", the Managing Director is certain of this. And the company has big plans for 2007 as well: "While we were able last year to process up to 10,000 orders per month, we are now extending our capacities so that we will be able to process up to 100,000 transactions every month." Without the efficient ERP system from Walldorf the company would not be able to manage this growth in volume.
